In Waqt you play a spoilt brat. Elaborate your character.
Waqt is about relationship between a father and son. This is a film that is a real life story of every household. Mr. Bachchan plays my father in the film. I’m dependant on him for everything right from my childhood. I never realize or understand what he expects from me. It’s too late when I understand the priorities.
Are you a similar character in real life?
Partially. My upbringing was also similar. Playing this character came straight out of me. I’m now a father and have similar such relation with my son too.
This is your second film with Vipul. How was it?
Working with him is very pleasant. What makes him different is his personality and honesty. His films are always distinguishable. Both the films he had made are so diverse in all respect.
How did the bit of action with the Alsatian go?
This is something very dangerous. I’ve performed many action scenes but this was the deadliest. A dog in the process also injured me. Overall I enjoyed doing it.
Mr. Bachchan and you come together again. How was it acting with him?
So far we’ve done at least five films together. The rapport between us is very good. There is so much to learn from him. I really benefit out of it. Working with him excites me.
What about your plunge from action hero to the family man type?
I was bored of action and also tired of the tag of action hero. So this is kind of change that I’m experiencing. I enjoy the emotional films. I’ve not bid adieu to action. I would like to balance all kinds of role.
Tell us about your co-star Priyanka?
We’ve worked together in many films since her first film. She is making it to the top. She is a very dedicated and talented artiste.
Which your favourite song from the soundtrack?
Undoubtedly the holi song.
What is your next plan?
To do more films here. You’ve taken the distribution of the film. I wanted to dedicate the film to my father. This is a kind of tribute I want to pay to him.
